Porque is used as a conjunction to express cause. It is a conjunction.

Example:

– I didn’t come by car because/porque I want to save fuel.
– We are happy because/porque you came back.

This conjunction is equivalent to ya que, dado que or puesto que.

In some cases it can be used to replace the expression para que..

Example:

– I work hard so that/para que you don’t have to.
– I work hard porque you don’t have/tengas que to do it.

Note: it can be written in two words (por que). Subjunctive mood.

We use the accent when the word has an exclamatory or interrogative value and when it is a noun.

For example:

– ¿Cuándo llega la encomienda?

The use in exclamatory sentences is less common, but it does occur.

Example:

– Hasta cuándo! Cuándo no!

In interrogative sentences cuándo always has an accent even if the sentence is an indirect question.

– I would like to know cuándo/when the art dealer is coming.

Cuánto (with accent)

We write this word with an accent when its function is interrogative (even in indirect questions), exclamatory or when it represents a quantity (it can change gender and number).

Interrogative adjective: when it goes together with a noun.

Example:

– Cuántos/How many siblings do you have?

– Interrogative pronoun, when there is not any noun.

Example:

– I would like to know Cuántos/how many more we have to attend to (indirect question).

Let’s start with estar, it indicates:

Position. Example: Estoy de pié. I am standing.
Physical condition. Example: Estoy cansado. I am tired.
Place, location. Example: Estoy en el trabajo. I am at work.
Action. Example: Estoy corriendo. I am running.
Emotion. Example:Estoy feliz. I am happy.

Ser indicates:

Origin. Example: Soy de Venezuela. I am from Venezuela.
Occupation, profession. Example: Soy veterinario. I am a veterinarian.
Characteristics. Example: Eres bella. You are beautiful.
Relationship, parentage. Example: Ellos son mis primos. They are my cousins.
Date. Example: Hoy es 14 de febrero. Today is February, 14th.
Time. Example: Son las 3:30. It is 3:30.

Cuyo is a relative pronoun with possessive value that agrees in gender and number with what is possessed, that which is after it in the sentence. The antecedent of the pronoun cuyo is the possessor of that which follows the pronoun. 

The pronoun cuyo cannot agree with its antecedent because its adjective value forces it to agree with the noun that is after it. 

Examples:

I have a house whose (cuyo) balcony overlooks the sea. 

Tengo una casa cuyo balcón tiene vista al mar. 

My mother, whose (cuyos) eyes were green, had to wear dark glasses.

Adjective or pronoun

As an indefinite adjective, Algún/a/os/as/ accompanies a noun. As you can see, when it functions as a singular masculine adjective, it takes the form  algún, even if between this adjective and the noun there is another word, this also happens when the word that follows it begins with a tonic a.

Example: Does any eagle want to live in a cage/ ¿Algún águila quiere vivir en una jaula? (but there is no problem if we add the a to the adjective, however,  not using the apocope went in disuse).That is, the expression alguna águila, today is rare. If any soldier disobeys, he iis undisciplined./Si algún soldado desobedece, es un  indisciplinado.

Spanish teacher: and sobresdrújulas.

You: sobresdrújulas, too. Oh no, that is too much!

The rules of accentuation in Spanish allow us to know how and when we should use  the graphic accent. We will start with acute words.

Agudas words are those whose major stress is on the last syllable and we must add the graphic accent when these words end in N, S, or any vowel, but if they do not end in any of these letters, it is not necessary to write the graphic accent although the prosodic accent is maintained.
